ARMADA LAMP

A cold metal cylinder cradles a warm glow, while a shell of concrete envelops them both like a heavy blanket. Inspired by the raw beauty and simplicity of construction sites, Armada is a unique collection of handcrafted pieces designed by Piero Demichelis. Initiated in 2016, the project emerged from the debris of his own architectural works—fragments of rebar and concrete reassembled into luminous objects.

Built from three elemental materials—rebar, concrete, and brass—the series transforms construction remnants into vessels of light. The interplay between the density of concrete and the transparency of the metal structure generates a subtle tension between weight and suspension. Each piece appears as a miniature brutalist structure, seemingly hovering in mid-air, held aloft by the glow it contains.
